Janet Oputa, is a Health Science Policy Analyst at the National Institutes of Health and has expertise in project management, community engagement, research dissemination, population health, and innovation strategies. As a Health Science Policy Analyst for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the Helping to End Addiction Long-Term (HEAL) Initiative, her primary role managed and oversaw the NIH HEAL Connections program, a multi-million-dollar funding award that focused on building trustworthy partnerships with communities impacted by pain and addiction and improving how these communities access and receive addiction and chronic pain research.

Prior to joining the National Institutes of Health, Janet worked at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials as a Senior Analyst and Project Manager on the Population Health and Innovation Team where she managed project portfolios focused on digital health and transformation, access to healthcare, social determinants of health, cross-sector partnership development, and health equity.

Her passion is to improve access to quality healthcare for communities who have been disadvantaged and left behind, and to support initiatives that improve health equity and address health disparities.
